Do you like to play a lot of different games? If you want to play a game, you just buy it, right? Even though you've been renting movies online for years, you probably never even considered an online video game rental service. With the price of video games getting higher and higher ($60+ for one game? Insane!), it can be difficult to impossible to keep buying every game you want to play.

Take a look at your current collection of games. If you are most gamers, it is pretty large. Do you have a lot of games that have never been completed? Or worse yet, games that have never been played? That's just a huge waste of hard earned money right there.

Renting video games is a much better option. One of the best reasons is that you get to try out the game before spending a ton of money on it. There are so many games being released each month that it is not always easy to pick one or two games to buy. With renting, you can try them all, and if you find one you like, you can buy just that one. If you currently buy several games every month, this can save you a lot of money.

Are you are one of those players that complete games in just a day or two, never to play it again? Think of how much money you can save by not having to buy all those games. You could easily play several games every month for just one low subscription of around $16 a month. Compare that with spending over $100 a month buying just 2 or 3 games and you can see just how much you can save. Even if you just rented one game a month it would still be a lot cheaper than it would be to purchase that game.

You also have a huge selection of new and old, classic games to chose from with a game rental service. The largest service has a selection of over 8000 games to choose from. These include games for all the major consoles like the Playstation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and others. Brick and mortar stores such as Blockbuster do not even come close to this kind of selection. You can choose from currently released games or games that have been out for several years.

Another great advantage is that the games are delivered to your front door. You don't have to drive to the store to pick out a game and then drive back to turn it in when you finish the game. This is really nice for anyone that does not have a store located close by.

Feel free to take as much time as you want when playing your game. With no due dates/late fees, there's nothing to worry about. Take a day, a week, a month, or longer. It's all good. When you are done, put it in your mailbox, and they will send you the next game in your queue.

There have been several companies that offer video game rental services, but GameFly and Gamemine (see update above) are the two that have been around the longest and have the best track records.
