Spore Galactic Adventures Details

Last year EA released a hit simulation game called Spore, which allowed players to have Sims-like control over galaxies of evolving creatures. The game was designed so that you can zoom in and control life on a cellular level. Since then development has well undergone for a more streamlined expansion pack, called Galactic Adventures. In it, players too have control of the game’s world and the creatures in it, but also in that you can set up the game’s world yourself before diving into some traditional singleplayer adventures.

But first things first. Galactic Adventures expands on Spore mainly in that galactic domination takes place on a deeper level, since you can now take control of your individual creatures as they invade each planet, and through them destroy enemies and gather credits, xp points, etc, which can be used to upgrade your Captains. Captains can not only be customized from the ground, but also adorned with all kinds of equipment, from jetpacks and lazerguns to a simple set of razor sharp teeth and claws.

Adventures come in the form of quests, which you can accept World Of Warcraft-style by speaking with those with floating exclamation points over their heads. In addition, there is a Quickplay function that can be activated in order to engage in some quick, prebuilt adventures. There are also some pre-built Captains that can be used for this feature.

But perhaps the most fascinating concept implemented in Galactic Adventures is the Adventure Creator. It’s a very robust editor that may generate the same interest and devotion that games like LittleBigPlanet have. It allows you to manipulate everything from the galaxy, to the environments on each planet, down to specific details such as enemy and character placement and conditions.

Spore Galactic Adventures ships on June 23rd. It’s Massively Multiplayer style gameplay should add a very addictive element to an already very popular and accomplished game.
